
It was another busy month for home sales in Renfrew County.
The Renfrew County Real Estate Board (RCREB) says in January 2021, 96 units were sold which is two off the record set in January of 2006, it’s also an increase of 29.7% from January of 2020.
The dollar value of homes sold in Renfrew County also shot up 38.9% ($94,004), setting a new record for the month of January. According to information from the RCREB, the average price of homes sold in January of 2021 was $335,903. To put that into perspective, the average price of homes sold in January 2020 was $241,899.
There were 115 new residential listings in January 2021 marking the lowest number of new listings added in the month of January in three decades.
Active residential listings numbered 129 units at the end of January, a 15-year low.
Months of inventory numbered 1.3 at the end of January 2021, down from the 5.8 months recorded at the end of January 2020. The number of months of inventory is the number of months it would take to sell current inventories at the current rate of sales activity.
