They’re ready to work. Trustees for the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) have taken and signed their oaths of allegiance. Two new faces have joined the board including Nic Edge, a former student trustee, now covering the Arnprior/McNab-Braeside jurisdiction and Michael Guenette who will oversee Laurentian Valley, and North Algona Wilberforce. All other trustee’s for the public school board were either re-elected or acclaimed. At the board meeting last night (December 4th, 2018) Susan Humphries was elected as the Chair of the RCDSB. Humphries has served as the vice-chair for the past two years now and says the time in that role has prepared her for what’s next.
Humphries says it’s an exciting time in for the school board as they plan to expand on French emersion and are looking at opportunities for exchanges with France too. Humphries adds top of mind for her includes increasing communication with the public and revamping the website. She adds the board works extremely well together in the best interest of students, parents, teachers and all staff.
