A double-dose of donations, as the 14th Annual Wardens Cup Invitational Golf Tournament and Denim Days has raised $4,020 for Renfrew Victoria Hospital Oncology Unit, and the Renfrew County United Way.
The weather was perfect (Friday) for the September 7th tourney at Whitetail, where 88 enthusiastic golfers drove home the importance of giving back.
The best ball format shotgun start tournament saw teams from across the county and beyond turn out for 18 holes of golf, dinner, prizes all in support of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Oncology Unit, and the Renfrew County United Way.
Warden Jennifer Murphy presented Sarah Robinson from the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation a cheque in the amount of $2,010, and Pat Lafreniere from the Renfrew County United Way a cheque in the amount of $2,010.
Monies were made up from funds raised at the tournament, and staff denim days held earlier in the year at County of Renfrew offices.
The winning team, Bob Sweet, Sonia Sweet, Brad Sweet and Victoria Sweet termed the victory a sweet success.
Over fourteen years the tournament has raised more than $55,000. for local charities.
