March Break Programs for Children up to age 12

March 11th - Lego Science - ages 4 and up - Come & discover how to "thaw" Lego pieces through a chemical reaction before you can start building!
March 13th - Candypult - ages 7 and up - Meet the catapult that throws candy through the air and discover energy transfer at the same time!
March 15th - TWO Special Shows with Let's Talk Science
Program #1- Liquids, Solids and Gases (for 4-7 year olds) - 10:30 am - Noon
Join us as we explore every day liquids and solids to determine their properties, as
well as, what happens when liquids are mixed with different liquids and with
various solids!
Density towers will be created using liquids and solids with different densities!
A messy hands-on activity!
Program #2 - Driving Toward the Future (for 8 - 12 year olds) - 1:30 - 3 p.m.
Learn about the current topic of self-driving cars and the big ideas behind
computational thinking--how to break down a problem into steps, and how to
create a process that can be followed to reach a goal as children "program" a car
through different levels. A fun introductory activity to coding!
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT MARCH BREAK...
- Admission is free! Donations are always gratefully appreciated!
- Check out the ages for each of the programs!
- Activities have a MAXIMUM of 25 CHILDREN
- RESERVE A PROGRAM SPACE!
To reserve a space and avoid disappointment, you can:
1. Call the Children's Dept. at 613-432-8151 ext. 5 to reserve a program space!
2. Come visit the Children's Dept. to reserve a program space!
3. E-mail to reserve a program space: sklinck@renfrew.library.on.ca
4. Drop in early on program day, there may be space!
IMPORTANT NOTE: If a space is reserved, it is only reserved for 5 minutes after start time before the space is given to someone else!

During March Break enjoy some family fun with a Building Block Scavenger Hunt around the Town of Renfrew!
While you are out and about keep a lookout for Lego, Mega Bloks, and Duplo blocks that have been placed throughout the town with a sticker on it that says...
Please return me to the Children's Department at Renfrew Public Library between March 11-15 for a chance to win a Lego Set!
You will receive one ballot for each Building Block returned to enter into the draw!
