Remembrance Day is three weeks away and the Royal Canadian Legion’s National Poppy Campaign is set to begin shortly.
The campaign begins this Saturday, October 24th nationwide. The day will be a new permanent start date for the campaign moving forward.
Locally, donation boxes will be available at businesses throughout the community and nationally at TD Bank locations. If you don’t have any physical currency on you, donation boxes may have a tap-to-donate option that accept debit and credit cards and will automatically donate $5 to the local Legion. Starbucks will also be collecting donations via their point-of-sale systems and will be send directly to the local Legion branch.
If, for any reason, you can’t find a poppy location, the Legion has also collaborated with Amazon Canada offering a range of poppy products, delivered right to your door.
Coming October 24th, the Legion will be revealing a new revolutionary donation method using new technology in a “first-of-its-kind” fundraising campaign.
You can find out more information about the national campaign at legion.ca, locally at the Renfrew Legion Branch 148’s website.
