Officials in Whitewater Region are reassuring residents as crews work to fix a problem at the Cobden water tower.
The township says the Ontario Clean Water Agency discovered a pipe break inside the water tower around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7. Crews were expected to isolate the tower from the water system before draining it for repairs Wednesday evening.
No interruptions to the village’s drinking water are expected. However, some residents may notice temporary water discoloration once the repairs are complete, and localized watermain flushing may also be needed.
The township’s public works team is expected to provide another update once the water tower is back in service.
