One of three candidates for mayor in Admaston-Bromley says a rural township deserves a rural approach – simple, practical and focused on the basics.
Kevin Legris says from his time on council and chairing various committees such as waste, community, and protective services, he’s seen first hand what works in a rural community, and what doesn’t.
Legris says he’s watched Admaston Bromley’s financial situation worsen, as funding shrinks and costs go up, and their efforts to rely on growth to offset the burden has not worked.
Legris says Admaston Bromley can’t rely on growth in the tax base to offset rising costs and declining funding, so he says the next council is going to have to focus on finding savings, and he feels
administration is the first place council should look.
Legris grew up in the township, and currently works as a Facility Authority in Decommissioning at CNL.
He says his combination of municipal experience and high-level regulatory oversight has shaped his approach to accountability, safety, and disciplined decision-making.
Legris is joined on the ballot by Deputy Mayor Keith Gourley and fellow Councillor Brian Hamilton.
