Scams are becoming more and more intricate every day, especially with the use of A.I.
With A.I., scammers can use voices that sound realistic and lure unsuspecting people into precarious situations that puts their money and identity at risk.
The Renfrew OPP want to help the community learn how to handle these situations through some information sessions available to the public.
Tuesday, September 15th at the Barr Line Community Centre in Douglas, the police are hosting two presentations available to anyone at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Each session will help teach you how to recognize scams and phishing emails. What you should do if you receive a scam phone call, email or text; and how to keep your identity safe and protected online.
