The region’s first responders made the most of their latest opportunity to build positive relationships with the community’s youth.
Members of the Renfrew OPP, Renfrew Fire Department, County of Renfrew Paramedic Service, and the county’s MESA team gathered at the Renfrew Fairgrounds on Monday, August 24, as part of their First Responders’ Kids Day.
Local kids met with first responders, got an up-close look at their vehicles and equipment, and took part in fun activities as they learned more about the work emergency services do within the community.
The day also marked one of the final appearances for the Renfrew OPP’s Youth in Policing Initiative students, who the detachment thanked for their dedication and enthusiasm assisting officers after their summer placement finished this week.
