Renfrew Victoria Hospital is expanding local access to specialized care with the addition of a new gynecologist.
The hospital has announced that Dr. Nicholas Tackett, DO, FACOG, will begin serving patients in Renfrew and the surrounding area this month.
In a statement, RVH says Dr. Tackett brings experience in gynecology, obstetrics, and minimally invasive surgery, earning his doctorate at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completing his residency at the Naval Medical Centre Portsmouth in Virginia.
He also served as a gynecologic surgeon and obstetrician with the United States Air Force and as medical director at the Royal Air Force Base Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Through weekly clinics, Dr. Tackett will provide consultation and treatment for a broad range of concerns, including postmenopausal bleeding, heavy or painful menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, contraception and family planning, and menopausal care.
He will also offer surgical consultations and procedures, such as D&Cs, hysteroscopies, cervical excisional procedures, laparoscopic sterilization, treatment of adnexal masses, and advanced minimally invasive hysterectomies.
