Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited have welcomed the University of Toronto as the newest member of CNL’s Academic Partnership Program.
The agreement, formalized during a signing ceremony at the university’s Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus, makes U of T the program’s 10th partner institution. The initiative is aimed at developing Canada’s future nuclear workforce through collaborative research, training opportunities and shared access to national laboratory facilities and expertise.
Officials say the partnership supports research in areas including clean energy, health, environmental remediation and national security. The announcement also aligns with the federal government’s recently released Nuclear Energy Strategy for Canada, which calls for expanded nuclear capacity, increased innovation and a stronger workforce to support the country’s growing nuclear sector.
