Caregivers throughout the Ottawa Valley will have the chance to gain valuable tools with the help of two local hospitals.
St. Francis Memorial Hospital and Renfrew Victoria Hospital will host free community sessions focused on local programming, services and supports that help older adults live safely and independently at home.
Angie Lepine, the Community Geriatric Coordinator for RVH, will lead attendees through the chance to learn about which resources are available locally, connect with community organizations, and receive a free resources booklet.
The sessions begin at the Opeongo Seniors Centre in Barry’s Bay from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 28, and will finish at the Golden Age Activity Centre in Renfrew from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 30.
Both are free to attend and open to everyone, but those planning to attend the Barry’s Bay event are asked to call 613-432-4851 ext. 513 ahead of attending.
