Here is a quick snapshot of what’s happening around town the next 48 hours.

TODAY: Wednesday nights are Music Trivia Nights at Renfrew Boston Pizza! Grab up to five of your friends and form a team to test your knowledge with host Chris Cooper starting that evening at 6:00 pm! $10 per person, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Robbie Dean Centre. Reserve your table at 613-434-MYBP (6927).

TODAY: Test your skill this Wednesday as the Arnprior Public Library’s Community Chess Club opens for another in-person meeting starting at noon. The library supplies the chess boards, you bring your interest for the game and join fellow enthusiasts every Wednesday in our Art Corridor.  This is an informal meetup for all ages and skill levels.

TODAY: The Cobden Agricultural Society is excited to host a Craft Day at their Youth Hall on Astrolabe Road this Wednesday at 10:00 am. Their amazing volunteers will help kids work on their exhibit hall entries! Some supplies may be available for those who are unable to bring them, but please bring any & all the crafting supplies you can to make your creation uniquely yours!

TOMORROW: Families of Community Living clients will meet with the public to share their stories this Thursday as local developmental services workers remain on strike. Head to Low Square in Renfrew from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The family-friendly event features light refreshments, costumed storybook characters, and face painting.

TOMORROW: Paddle the beautiful Bonnechere River with Mad River Paddle Co. and the Town of Renfrew! Dive into summer fun with this casual group paddle starting at the Riverview Drive Boat Launch this Thursday at 6:00 pm. Free with your own kayak canoe or paddleboard, or contact Mad River Paddle Co. for rentals for gear.

TOMORROW: Meet Clancy the terrier and his handler every Thursday at the Arnprior Public Library! They will meet with library visitors every Thursday at 3:00 pm as they gain community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program. Clancy loves spreading joy throughout the library and receiving lots of pets and praise.

Registration is open for the upcoming season for both Renfrew and Arnprior Minor Hockey, with parents in both communities encouraged to sign up online.
