Enright Farms manages as many as 400 or more heads of cattle and calf at any given time on their Douglas property, which specializes in Angus and other commercial breeds on top of a mix grain operation that produces corn, soy beans, wheat, and hay.
Sean Enright and wife Kathryn lead the way on the farm as the family’s second generation, overseeing of the day-to-day operations alongside his parents while allowing their five young kids the opportunity to participate through daily chores and preparing their cattle for shows across the region.
Passing the torch to the next generation won’t happen for some time, but Sean says leaving the businesses will be in a good place for his kids is always on the back of his mind. He also stresses the importance of putting family first and ensuring they spend ample time away from what can be a chaotic life on the farm.
