The 170th edition of the Beachburg Fair officially opened on Thursday at 5:00 p.m., and organizer Anna McIntyre is ready for the masses to take in the oldest-running fair in the Valley.
Anna is the Director of the Beachburg Agricultural Society, and it’s been a lot of hard work getting to the opening of the annual event, but it’s always a joy, she says.
One of the biggest changes to the fair this year is the addition of All Canadian Entertainment, which is revamping the midway by adding exciting rides and games. It will also feature a “pay one price and ride” arrangement this year.
Advance tickets are $25 and are available at several locations around the Valley, but if you miss out, you can pay $30 at the gate.
The Beachburg Fair is the oldest fair in the Valley and the first to open its doors each season, and this year is no different. There will be a 50/50 draw throughout the weekend, as well as great eats and treats for people of all ages to enjoy.
For agriculture fans, events kick off on Friday with a handful of shows featuring dairy cows and a horse pull later in the day. Musical entertainment begins Friday and continues throughout the weekend.
On closing day, Sunday, a car show will be featured for auto enthusiasts, as well as a miniature horse show in the Dome.
