Efforts to bring a new skatepark to the town of Arnprior will pay off at the end of the week.
Town staff and the Arnprior Skateboard Association will cut the ribbon on the new park this Friday, July 10, with a grand opening ceremony starting that evening at 5:30 pm.
It’s the result of years of hard work, passion, and community engagement, which began when the association began raising funds to replace the original modular park back in 2020.
Skaters are invited to drop in for the festivities this Friday, which will include music by DJ Davey and food from Arnprior Dominos and Mallards Milk Bar.
Officials will also use the grand opening to unveil the new park’s name, honouring a generous local sponsor whose contributions helped to increase the size and quality of the park ahead of construction.
