Police in the Cobden area have made an arrest after a late evening incident on Friday.
The Renfrew OPP were called into the village shortly after 8:00 pm on June 19 after getting reports of a dispute involving two individuals.
As a result of their investigation, a 48-year-old form Chapeau has been charged for:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
- Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Forcible confinement
- Dangerous operation
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – two counts
- Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
The accused was held in custody ahead of a bail healing. Police say that they will not release names in order to protect the identity of the victim.
