The Township of McNab/Braeside is launching a pilot project aimed at getting drivers to slow down.
One of the traffic calming measures to be used is flexible bollards for Stewartville Road and Island Road. The bollards require vehicles to navigate in tighter quarters, forcing them to slow down.
myFM News spoke to McNab/Braeside’s Director of Public Works Ryan Frew at an open house on June 11th, which was held to share information and ideas with residents.
The OPP was also on hand at the meeting. Acting Staff Sergeant Greg Streng says officers at the detachment are doing the best they can, but people can call the OPP’s non-emergency line to share information on areas that need more monitoring.
He says residents can take videos or pictures of vehicles of concern then forward them to police.
