The OPP have provided answers as to why there was a heavy presence of officers in Renfrew on May 26.
Updating the public on social media on Wednesday, OPP Sergeant Erin Cranton explains that multiple units were called upon to help with the ongoing investigation into the fatal 2023 shooting of Renfrew resident Jonathan Logan.
Logan was 41 years old when he was killed at a home on Vimy Boulevard. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived on the scene that evening, and investigators have previously indicated that they believe the attack was targeted.

Renfrew residents are being told that there will be a police presence in the area today as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
The OPP says that there is no threat to public safety, and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
