Town staff in Renfrew wants local dog owners to mind where they are letting their pets roam.
Staff have received a number of complaints regarding off-leash dogs and dog waste along local trails and in public spaces.
They are reminding community members that all dogs must be kept on-leash at all times in public areas and on the town’s trail system, in accordance with local by-laws. The only public space where dogs can be off-leash in the Renfrew Lions Club Dog Park inside Ma-te-Way Park.
Residents are also reminded to pick up after their pets and dispose of the waste properly, including while using bush trails and in natural areas.
