Local runner Pat McGregor has massive plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital.
McGregor is preparing to run and bike in three 32-kilometre duathlons over the course of June, July, and August in hopes of raising $100,000 for RVH. She welcomes the community to be part of the monumental feat by joining her on the final stretch.
McGregor’s first duathlon was a hit with donors last year, when she raised over $31,000 in honour of the 30th anniversary of the hospital’s dialysis unit, and the people and businesses already eager to support this year’s triple trek have already humbled her with their generosity.
The only thing she has to worry about is keeping herself in top shape as the starting line looms next month.
She also credits the staff at RVH and their charitable foundation for being on her side when she comes up with a wild fundraising idea, like her 100-kilometre plan for the summer, adding that the math for her goal is more achievable than you might think.
On top of giving through the RVH Foundation website, donors can enter to win a gift basket worth at least $400 at select retailers, with the winner drawn during the final stretch on August 23rd.
