People driving along Veteran’s Memorial Boulevard in Renfrew may have noticed a giant dancing beer can doing some good for the community on Saturday, May 23.
That was Renfrew Beer Store Manager Sarah St. Amand, who was dressed up and stationed outside the building as part of their annual bottle drive supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
The inflatable costume has become a recognizable feature for the local initiative, drawing in both regular customers and people just passing by to learn more about the cause, grab a hot dog fresh off the grill, and chat with the store’s workforce.
On a more serious note, St. Amand says the annual fundraiser has been embraced by the community as they help make a difference in the lives of people impacted by blood cancers.
Donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada can be made any day during store hours.
