Renfrew’s 4-H youth have a unique opportunity to learn and grow alongside some special animal friends in their miniature horse project
Club leader Anna McIntyre oversees the program, which acts as a perfect introduction to horses and gives local youth the chance to learn hands-on skills while developing meaningful relationships with the animals they care for.
Participating youth also form tight bonds with their horses as they take part in grooming, handling, feeding, and training, something Anna says is one of the most rewarding aspects of the project.
Communities across the Ottawa Valley can expect to see the miniature horse project at a number of local fairs in the area, demonstrating showmanship, confirmation, and even some fun community events that give people a chance to ask questions and experience the animals for themselves.
