The Renfrew Rotary Club will have both the surf and the turf ready for dinner at the local legion later this month.
Rotary’s Lobster or Steak Feast will return on Tuesday, May 26, continuing a lengthy community tradition that club member Lona Logan-Scully says dates back to the early 1980s.
Logan-Scully and fellow member Dennis Yakaback are urging residents to get their $45 meal tickets as soon as possible so the Rotary team can accurately prepare hundreds of meals on the day of the event, including a full day in the kitchen that they call organized chaos.
Proceeds from the dinner help support a number of ongoing projects and organizations that our local Rotary club is involved in, including an ongoing partnership with town staff that is exploring possible improvements to a local park.
The dinner has also been a fantastic gathering spot for friends and neighbours in the community, who have made the annual dinner one of the hottest social events in town every May.
Guests dining at the Legion that evening can choose to sit at 6:00 pm or 7:30 pm, with takeout available after 4:30 pm.
Tickets can be bought from any Rotarian or at the Renfrew Legion, Aikenhead’s Pharmacy, The Warehouse, Chris and Tanya’s No Frills, and the Renfrew Metro. For more details, call Logan-Scully at 613-432-8626 or Yakaback at 613-432-0041.
