The Renfrew Public LIbrary's Jail and Bail Fundraiser's "fugitives," (From left) myFM Reporter Kasey Egan, Merv Warren, Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney, Neil Huard, and Terry Edwards
The first Renfrew Public Library Jail and Bail Fundraiser has locked up important funds for the facility.
Library Board Chair Hayley Heaslip was thrilled to have the community drop by their downstairs programming room to help five notable community members make bail, raising $1,419 over the span of three hours on Saturday, May 9.
Those funds will help upgrade and replace technology that the library lends out regularly to families, like Chromebooks, as the library board tackles a long list of needs that extends from programming to upkeep and maintenance for the historically important building.
Among the major projects coming to the library will be one that takes over the very programming room where the jail and bail fundraiser itself took place.
Heaslip and the library are working on even more fundraising ideas, which the community can expect to hear more about throughout the year.
