The next era for the Renfrew Wolves begins this weekend.
General Manager Carl Robillard and his coaching staff are welcoming around 125 players from across Canada and the United States for the team’s annual prospect camp, as the Wolves look to build next season’s roster with a focus on skill and competitiveness.
Robillard calls the camp a chance for the organization to reset, something similar to what he led his former team, the Rockland Nationals, through three years ago, with returning and committed players competing with free agent hopefuls looking to carve out a role in the new system.
The weekend will be important for many of the players taking part even if they don’t make the cut, and while the Wolves being familiar with a player could help their chances, it’s not a guarantee either.
Scrimmages will happen all weekend on the myFM Centre’s BEI ice pad.
