Sometimes, taking care of your mind means taking care of your body first.
Renfrew Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Centre co-founder Dr. Lauren Scott notes that while their services don’t directly address a patient’s mental health, the science behind chiropractic care says chronic pain and mental well-being are closely related.
RCRC’s multidisciplinary clinic offers non-invasive means of handling the types of pain and movement disorders that can be incredibly isolating for patients, as a loss of mobility often means losing activities and social enrichment, leading to common symptoms like increased anxiety, poor sleep, and low mood and depression.
Their goal is to help people return to their normal lives, starting with listening to patients and helping them understand what’s going on.
Dr. Scott is keenly aware of how helping someone regain confidence in controlling their body can have a positive impact.
She has also seen wider movement within chiropractic medicine, moving the focus of treatment towards building resilience and long-term function over chasing quick fixes to structural issues, adding that now is as good a time as ever for people to see a specialist.
The Renfrew Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Centre is located in the business section of the myFM Centre. Appointments can be booked online.
