The Tragically Chip was one of four chip trucks kept busy over the weekend.
Ontario’s touring poutine festival satisfied a lot of cravings as it started its 2026 tour in Renfrew over the weekend.
James Doucet, one of the organizers of Poutine Feast, was thrilled to have yet another busy four days in a community that has fully embraced their delicious takes on Canada’s classic comfort food but also to have an amazing experience working with the town itself, which sponsored the event for the first time this year.
Four of the best chip trucks in the province served their own unique poutine offerings to droves of guests who stopped by the visitors’ information centre.
We asked Doucet what makes the dish so irresistible.
Those who missed out on the fun in Renfrew will get another chance to dig in when the tour returns to Petawawa at the end of August, an all-new time for what is usually their first stop of the year.
Doucet says the tour is in talks with both Ottawa Valley communities on expanding into new, larger venues that will promise even more for guests next year, including more vendors and games perfect for keeping families entertained the whole event long.
Those who can’t wait until the summer to get their next fix of Poutine Feast can head east to Carleton Place, where the event will take over Riverside Park between May 7th and 10th.
