TODAY: Poutine Feast opens it’s 2026 season in Renfrew with four days of gravy-covered, gourmet goodness all weekend long at the Visitor Information Centre off of O’Brien Road! 11:00 am to 8:00 pm April 23-25, and 11:00 am to 6:00 pm April 26. Live entertainment, games, music, plus plenty of classic and unique takes on Canada’s favourite comfort food all weekend long! Local vendors also on site.
TODAY: The Robbie Dean Counselling Centre presents Besties and Bling: A ladies night out at the Shady Nook Recreation Centre in Pembroke! Friday, April 24th at 6:00 pm. Donate a purse, buy a purse. Prizes, silent auction and ladies vendor booths. $40 ticket includes dinner by the Kitchen Eatery and Catering Company, followed by dancing with DJ Shannon. All proceeds go to the Robbie Dean Counselling Centre. Tickets available here.
TODAY: The Renfrew Chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women is hosting the 65th and final edition of their giant two-day book sale inside the MacNeil Gymnasium at Renfrew Collegiate Institute on April 25th and 26th. Thousands of new worlds and fascinating tales to explore, all at a bargain! Proceeds support scholarships for area high school students.
TODAY: The community will gather at The Cupboard, John Street North in Arnprior, this Friday for a Cancer Friends Fundraiser! It’s a two night event, starting with karaoke night at 9:00 pm to midnight on Friday, April 24th. Then, head back at the same time on Saturday, April 25th, for live music with the band Search Party! Proceeds benefitting two local women, Mary Barr & Gaetane Ouellet, who are battling cancer.
TOMORROW: The St. Francis Xavier CWL is holding their Annual Rummage Sale on Saturday April 25th from 8:00am to 12:00 noon, in the Parish Hall at 331 Plaunt St. S., Renfrew, ON. All are welcome – free admission!
TOMORROW: Join the Calabogie Lions Club for their Yard Sale Day, rain or shine at the Calabogie United Church, 1044 Madawaska St. Check out a huge collection of goods up for grabs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 25
TOMORROW: Barclay Dick & Son Farm Supply in Douglas is hosting a free small animal workshop from noon to 2:00 pm this Saturday. Learn the basics of poultry, rabbits, sheep, and goats from experienced local guest speakers who will share real-world tips and hands-on knowledge.
TOMORROW: Come join the effort to get Camp Legewade along Hurds Lake ready for the season! A work day cleaning up around the camp is set for this Saturday. Planned activities include: Brushing Roads & Trails (Chainsaw Certification Required), General Clean-Up, Cutting & Stacking Firewood, Building Tent Platforms, and Miscellaneous Tasks. Renfrew Minor Baseball has released it’s Week 1 Schedule, with all age groups starting their season between May 6th and May 9th: T-ball– Wednesday 5:30 to 6:30, Rookie– Tuesday 5 to 6:30, Minor– Tuesday and Thursday 6:30-8, Major– Monday and Wednesday 6:30-8 , Jr/Sr– Tuesday and Thursday 6:30-8
Renfrew Minor Soccer will host a Meet the Coaches night at the myFM Centre from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on Monday, May 4th. There will also be a Referees meeting at the arena at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, May 13th.
