This weekend marks the final chapter for a massive book sale helping our local high schools.
The Renfrew Chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women is hosting the 65th and final edition of their giant two-day book sale inside the MacNeil Gymnasium at Renfrew Collegiate Institute on April 25th and 26th.
Their Jane Donnelley says the CFUW has remained active in the community since 1957, most known for hosting an all-candidates night during municipal elections and playing a pivotal part in advancing education, especially for women, in the community.
An aging member base has made it harder in recent years to hold the annual sale, but the group is still ready to offer the community one last chance to explore new worlds and fascinating stories at a bargain.
Every book bought on the weekend will immediately benefit young scholars at Renfrew Collegiate Institute and St. Joseph’s High School.
The cash-only event gets underway this Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and again on Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
