A combination of Recreation Staff, Public Works Staff, and a hearty volunteer compliment teamed up to bring Arnprior’s Second Annual Bunny Run off without a hitch last Saturday.
Programming and Events Supervisor Lucas Power manned the Public Address system that directed participants, while Recreation Director Graeme Ivory expressed his concurrence with the teamwork involved- citing the new 10km event offered this year.
Given that the second annual event continues its coincidence with Easter (a lunar calendar occurrence), the risk of the run happening three weeks earlier than last year meant the greater possibility of bad weather.
Arnprior Mayor Lisa McGee says she’s been told serious runners actually prefer colder temperatures.
The Mayor believes the Arnprior Bunny Run is among events helping to popularize the community as a destination.
Does Mayor McGee have a favourite distance she likes to take part in?
The Mayor’s support crew for the medal ceremonies included County Councillor Dan Lynch and elected representative Chris Toner.
