Samantha Parsons is a grade 12 student at Saint Joseph’s Catholic High School (SJHS) and Parsons, with the assistance of drama teacher Julie Kelly, is putting on a show next Monday (April 13).
It’s a live stage rendition of a popular 90s horror show.
Parsons has put a lot of work into this live-rendition of the classic and sharing theatre is a big passion of her’s.
This project also involves the drama teacher, Julie Kelly.
Kelly said seeing a student so passionate about the theatrical arts is reassuring due to waning interest in the subject in recent years.
Parson’s passion for theatre is so radiant her play has officially been awarded at Drama Fest which takes the exposure to a whole new level.
The next steps forward include a community show next Monday, April 13 at SJHS.
Tickets are $10 at the door, and there will be refreshments available inside too.
Money raised through this showing will help the troupe get to the regional competition in Kingston, where Parson the playwright will be directly competing with students from other schools.
