Renfrew County residents could feel one last blast of winter weather over the next 48 hours, according to Environment Canada.
The weather agency has placed the Ottawa Valley under a special weather statement ahead of an extended period of freezing rain or drizzle starting early in the overnight hours of Tuesday and ending early Wednesday morning.
Anywhere from 20 to 40 mm of rain is possible as forecasters believe the precipitation could arrive in two waves with a break for several hours on Tuesday, adding that how the expected band of freezing rain moves through the area could shift significantly as temperatures rise outside of the Ottawa River area.
Environment Canada is suggesting commuters allow themselves extra time to make their destination as untreated roads may become icy and slippery, adding that power outages are possible.
