A Renfrew volunteer has been acknowledged for her contributions to local agriculture.
Anna McIntyre received this year’s 4-H Ontario Arbour Award, an honour that recognizes exemplary volunteer service in the winner’s community.
A graduate of the Renfrew 4-H Association, McIntyre has served in several leadership roles for the organization, including as both a local and regional board director and as a director with the Ontario 4-H Council.
She is credited with leading over 90 local agriculture projects since 2002, playing a key role in expanding opportunities in the Ottawa Valley for youth participation at major competitions and events like Agribition and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, and guiding local 4-H programming through the COVID-19 pandemic.
McIntyre has also been an active volunteer in the broader community, splitting her time between the DACA Community Centre, Beachburg Fair, Renfrew and Cobden Fair, and the Ottawa Valley Miniature Horse Committee.
She and other recipients accepted the award at the annual 4-H Ontario Regional Roots Volunteer Conference earlier this month.
