It’s nearly time again for the ladies of the Valley to break out their party dresses and dust off their dancing shoes for the second annual fundraiser supporting the Robbie Dean Centre, specifically geared towards women.
“Bling and Besties,” set for Friday, April 24 — known as “Sip and Sparkle” last year — is the brainchild of Robbie Dean founder and organizer Monique Yashinskie, who is bringing a bit of a different twist to this year’s event:
Another addition to this year’s offering will be an opportunity to purchase various items from a handful of vendors who will be on hand to help make this another special night of fundraising and fun.
This year’s event will be held at the Shady Nook Recreation Centre, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and dinner served at 6:30. There will be a cash bar, and your $40 ticket entitles you to dinner, provided by The Kitchen Eatery and Catering Company, followed by dancing with DJ Shannon.
Lots of raffles and door prizes will be the order of the evening, says Yashinskie, and she also reminds guests to bring a favourite purse for yet another slightly different offering this go-round:
Last year’s turnout totalled roughly 125 ladies, and Monique expects a similar crowd this year. Returning again as the lead sponsor is Heritage Hearing. Over $17,000 was raised at last year’s event, so Monique has set the bar a bit higher, hoping to bring in $20,000 or more for the evening.
