At this week’s town council meeting, staff highlight some key statistics in the Town of Renfrew in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Acting Chief Administrative Officer, Eric Withers, released a public document stating “Development activity continued to reflect strong and stable investment in our community, with building permit volumes returning to pre-pandemic trends and approximately $12.4 million in construction value recorded as of the end of Q4.”
Withers was also pleased with numbers from the Renfrew Public Library.
The fourth quarter also brought 126 new library patrons with 11,560 physical library items borrowed from both departments.
In regards to programs in Q4 38 children’s programs were hosted with an attendance of 1390.
There were also 19 class visits with 420 attending students, and 51 adult programs with 467 in attendance.
Janyne Fraser, Community Outreach & Programs Supervisor, said these efforts did not go unnoticed.
Fraser is at the helm of Renfrew’s recreation programs and events, she said this year all-around was very successful for recreation programming.
She also talked about another step forward for the Bonnechere Algonquin First Nation (BAFN) Community Cultural Centre.
myFM Centre amenities have also been generating revenue for the town.
Renfrewites were quite active this quarter as well.
From October to December the Fitness Center reports gym-goers travelled over 4,500 kilometres on treadmills, turning 494,336 revolutions on exercise bikes and taking 320,000 strides on ellipticals.
Both Withers and Fraser were overall pleased in the meeting with the success of recreation and community development.
