School bus drivers across the Ottawa Valley will not be on the road today as Environment Canada’s freezing rain warning remains in effect locally.
The Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium has cancelled service for all areas today as the weather agency is calling for significant freezing rain to begin this morning and continue into the overnight hours.
Both the Renfrew County District School Board and the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board have announced that there will be no-in person classes or activities today, with all staff working remotely.
Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery today. Prolonged utility outages are likely. Significant damage to property, including some buildings and trees, is likely due to the weight of ice.
