International Women’s Day 2026 is on Sunday, March 8, however, myFM Renfrew is celebrating the day a little early by sharing a conversation with local entrepreneur and business operator/owner Tanya Wojcik.
Wojcik’s name may ring a few bells, as she is the Tanya in Chris and Tanya’s No Frills.
She has over 20 years of experience being a social worker, but more recently her husband, Chris, taught her the ropes of running a local grocery store.
Once Wojcik was getting used to the operation, she quickly realized the women working there were very important during the learning phase.
The female staff at No Frills were not only a big help for Wojcik, but they also cultivate an effective, efficient and safe work environment that promotes the development of hard-working women.
She said the team she works with at No Frills are fantastic.
What does it mean for Wojcik to be a strong, successful woman?
She also firmly believes being humble and a having a will to work together are just a couple aspects.
Learning the ins and outs of Renfrew’s No Frills was one challenge, now Wojcik is taking a whole new step forward with her counseling business, TJW Counselling Services.
She’s going back to her roots, utilizing her experience in the social field to help out others, which is a big motivator for Wojcik.
Though running her own business has revealed the challenges of being a solo operator and entrepreneur.
This success reminds Wojcik of the incredible women she works with every day, without the incredible women at No Frills the store just wouldn’t be the same.
However, the woman Wojcik is inspired by the most, was right at home.
To the women who may still be searching for their purpose, Wojcik said to stay strong and never give up.
Women empower women, collaboration is the key to success.
