According to a press release from the Township of Admaston/Bromley, the Township is required to complete a review of its zoning by-laws this year.
The last review, which is from 2004, will be replaced by the new Comprehensive Zoning By-law.
This proposal was submitted by the County of Renfrew and the Township and it aims to align with the 2024 Provincial Planning Statement, the County of Renfrew Official Plan and “local context.”
The Township said some of the key changes for the new zoning by-law include; expanding where honeybee keeping is permitted and adding/updating provisions surrounding tarpaulin garages, shipping containers and shoreline activity areas.
The new Comprehensive Zoning By-law will also include the relatively new by-law 2023-61, which permits the keeping of backyard chickens.
There are also changes to the residential zones.
Residential 1 (R1) zones will be changed to Residential Rural (RR) zones due to a lack of municipal water or sewage services for zoning in R1 designated areas.
