Renfrew Collegiate Institute’s Jr. Boys Basketball team wrapped up their season at home in impressive fashion.
The RCI Raiders claimed championship glory at the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association end-of-season tournament on Tuesday, earning commanding wins over Perth’s St. John Catholic High School (59-30) and Kingston’s École Secondaire Publique Mille-Îles (84-45) en route to a toughly contested 64-55 finals victory over Alexandria’s Glengarry District High School.
Speaking with myFM ahead of the tournament, Coach Adam Noack called hosting the tournament for a second straight year “a special opportunity” for his team to square off with evenly matched opponents for the shot at a regional championship in what is the last stop locally for the junior level of high school athletics.
