Another big windfall for one lucky winner would go a long way to keeping quality care close to home in Renfrew.
Renfrew Victoria Hospital’s popular Catch the Ace lottery returned on Thursday, much to the delight of the Executive Director of the hospital’s foundation, Patti Dillabough, who says the community has embraced the anticipation that comes with how fast the progressive jackpot can build in just a few weeks.
Last year’s edition of the Catch the Ace was a particular success, as RVH raised $244,805 towards vital equipment upgrades while Natalie Leclaire celebrated winning $156,791 during the lottery’s week 41 draw.
The lottery has brought in more than $4.5 million dollars since its inception, all of which has helped to either add or improve on what the hospital is able to do for patients every day.
Dillabough adds that their plans for what this year’s lottery will pay for are still fluid, but that’s not hampered their volunteers as the first few tickets are sold.
Tickets for the Week 1 draw happening Thursday, February 19th, can be purchased at a number of local vendors, as well as at Renfrew Victoria Hospital and the RVH Foundation website.
