Horton Township is among communities across Renfrew County set to give the public their say on proposed spending for 2026.
Their annual budget will be the topic of discussion on Tuesday, February 10th, as township council field questions and comments on the document at a special meeting inside municipal council chambers council chambers that afternoon at 4:00 pm.
Mayor Daina Proctor says this year’s $3.1 million dollar budget “strengthens the township’s core services and invests responsibly in the infrastructure our community relies on every day,” including upgrades to the community center and outdoor rink, as well as Pinnacle Road, Garden of Eden Road, and Humphries Road North.
The township has announced that the budget as-is will result in a 2.5% tax levy increase over 2025, or a $38.07 increase on the average resident’s annual tax bill.
A copy of the proposed budget is available to the public at the Municipal Office and through the township website.
