Renfrew residents are being called on to show a small gesture of support for a family rocked by loss.
As you may have first heard from Jamie Cybulski of myFM in the Morning, a community movement is underway to leave a hockey stick outside your home this weekend in honour of the memory of 5-year-old McGregor Madigan, who tragically passed away in a recent ATV crash.
Cybulski notes that leaving sticks out for McGregor is just one of many ways people have reached out to support the Madigan’s since the incident, including a touching moment of silence held for in McGregor’s honour by friends and teammates on the local 2nd/3rd U7 Timbits hockey teams.
This weekend’s plans have also caught the attention of Renfrew Minor Hockey President Jon Pole, who says the movement has the association’s full support.
A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help the Madigans focus on healing, honouring McGregor’s life, and caring for each other in what is a very difficult time.
