Just a few days after alerting the public of yet another victim of fraud, local police say they have a potential lede in cracking the case.
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are turning to the public to identify a person of interest in relation to recent Grandparent Scam incidents, including one instance where a senior in Pembroke was scammed for $800 by a caller pretending the be the victim’s grandchild.
Investigators are interested in speaking with this person, and are asking anyone who might recognize them to reach out to their local detachment and refer to incident E260028841.
Tips can also be sent anonymously to Renfrew County Crime Stoppers.
