As calendars turn over into the new year the community has been looking back on what made 2025 so great.
Hospice Renfrew in particular experienced a year of success and generosity from Ottawa Valley residents.
Executive director, Marjorie Joly, said Hospice was very successful with its fundraisers; the Hike for Hospice in May raised over $130,000 with their golf tournament and Holly Jolly radiothon topping the year’s fundraisers.
The Hospice Palliative Care Association (HPCA) also conducted an accreditation review of Hospice Renfrew to record a score of 97 per cent.
Joly said the high score was one of the highlights of the year.
The past year was also a time for expansion; Hospice Renfrew added more nurses, personal support workers and more board members.
Joly is particularly excited for the new board members to get involved with the organization.
Hospice Renfrew is also expanding on its programs, specifically, they want to increase the service to match the grief and bereavement needs of the Valley.
