United Way East Ontario is set to collect donations next week for its largest annual fundraiser.
Giving Tuesday, the charity’s annual fundraising initiative for local issues, is set to take place on December 2nd this year.
Jade Nauman, United Way East Ontario’s Regional Director for the Renfrew County area, described the event as a global movement for both giving and volunteering.
According to Nauman, all donations to the campaign will be matched by TD Bank. The money raised during the annual event supports a wide variety of initiatives and programs in Renfrew County.
Last year, Nauman, said, over 92,000 people benefitted from the programs and services supported by United Way East Ontario. Nauman said she and her team are lucky to live in a community that supports charity initiatives like this.
Nauman also shared the story of a local young man who was able to turn his life around thanks to the support of programs funded by United Way East Ontario.
The goal for this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign is to raise $150,000. More details are available on the United Way East Ontario website.
