Algonquin College is proud to announce that applications are now open for its newly approved Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) degree program, offered at both the Pembroke and Ottawa campuses.
The launch aligns with Algonquin College’s celebration of 50 years of nursing excellence—a milestone that highlights the College’s enduring commitment to developing skilled, compassionate health-care professionals who enhance care within our region and beyond.
Building on the College’s strong foundation in hands-on, high-quality nursing education, the new program prepares graduates to apply for registration as Registered Nurses (RNs) in Ontario. Students will be equipped to serve in hospitals, long-term care homes, community health agencies, and home and community care settings across the region and farther afield.
Applications are also expected to open in Fall 2026 for an accelerated BScN (Honours) pathway. This option condenses the four-year degree into three years and four months, allowing students to complete their studies more efficiently while maintaining full academic rigor, comprehensive clinical preparation, and a strong focus on mental-health supports.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) program offers learners a strong foundation in nursing theory, clinical decision-making, and practical skills. Training is delivered in modern classrooms, high-fidelity simulation environments, and fully equipped nursing skills labs that mirror real-world health-care settings.
