Bonnechere Valley has found what they hope is the right fit to fill an open seat at council chambers.
The township has appointed Meredith Caplan Jamieson as their newest member of Council, filling the vacant position left behind following the resignation of Brent Patrick back on August 31st.
Candidates were invited to submit their interest ahead of October 9th, with all eight people interested in the role given up to two minutes to address councillors with their qualifications at a special public meeting before the decision was made.
Township staff say they are pleased “to have received so many expressions of interest from qualified and passionate individuals in our community” and the transparent process behind the council’s selection.
Caplan Jamieson will remain in her new role for the remainder of the term, ahead of the next municipal election next year.
