Mystery, true crime, and thrillers readers unite to share recommendations and chat about their latest reads every second Thursday of the month. The group also reads a crime book each month and then meets to discuss the twists and turns. Registration Required 18+
TODAY: A Meet the Candidates night for Pontiac communities getting ready for the upcoming municipal election has been set for this Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 inside Hursty’s Bar & Grill in Shawville. The Equity will host a casual, after-work gathering to meet the local candidates running for Councillor and Mayor in the Municipalities of Alleyn-et-Cawood, Otter Lake, Thorne, Shawville, Clarendon, Bristol & Portage-du-Fort, and the candidates running for Warden of the MRC Pontiac.

TOMORROW: The Shawville Shenanigans Playgroup returns to 586 Rue Main this Friday at 9:30 am, offering a free drop-in playgroup where children from 0 to 5 and their Moms or other caregivers can spend quality time playing, reading, doing crafts, eating snacks, socializing, etc. with each other and other members of the community. Non-denominational.
