Yesterday marked the start of the Coaching Association of Canada’s (CAC) aptly named National Coaching Week, a week-long celebration of coaching staff coast-to-coast.
CAC’s week of festivities includes free educational programs for coaches through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) which are offered free of charge until Thursday, Sept. 18.
National Coaching Week began yesterday, Sept. 15, and each day a new NCCP program is offered.
Today’s program is “Creating a Positive Sport Environment,” which the CAC said can help coaches create a safer and more inclusive environment for athletes.
Any certified coach can access the modules on CAC’s website, however they mention the programs are only free on each dedicated day.
For additional information CAC said to get in contact with local Provincial/Territorial Coaching Representatives; for Ontario it’s the Coaching Association of Ontario.
They said another option to reach out to is a National Sport Organization such as Hockey Canada.
